This is probably the product that used the most double-sided tape. First of all, I needed a cutting knife, and radio screwdriver to open up the product.

First of all, you place the cutting knife in between the edges of the boards, and then you are halfway there. One thing to be cautious of is that each of the four corners have to be lifted with the same amount of strength in order to open it up without damaging the product.

As you can see if you open up the top part, the display (OLED) is attached right on the top part. We can see that the LCM (Liquid Crystal Display) was made by e-LITECOM (a Korean company). - http://www.e-litecom.com

A little more dissection, and we can see the resin frame and touch panel module, which fix the top plate.

If you look at the front and back of the touch panel module, there is a white resin piece that has a prism effect to spread the light of the light emitting diode on the bottom part, on each of the button positions. Of course, there are light emitting diodes on each of the button positions on the board.

The light emitting diode is inside the small circle on the bottom part of the main board.

Next, if you flip the board, the major chips are in place.

1)  Samsung ARM core (As I predicted, it appears as though the reaction time has been improved by using a good chip set..) S5L8700A02

     2) Samsung flash memory

The next hardest part to dissect is the speaker. This is the part I thought the most about as I dissected. At first, I tried to dissect the speaker first, but failed… and ended up using the double-sided tape on the upper board.
In any case, you need to eliminate the metal gasket of the speaker in order to dissect the speaker. Then, there are two screws hiding, which fix the sliding bracket on the bottom. IF you get rid of that too, you are halfway through dissecting the speaker~

Next, if you get rid of the two screws hidden in the side that was fixed to the board and the cover (the black rectangle in the center of the picture above is the cover), then you have finished dissecting the speaker.

The speaker unit says FOSTER, but I cannot confirm whether it is the name of the company..

The other thing I was curious about was battery… It uses TCL HYPERPOWER BATTERIES, which were used a lot before, too. The capacity is 600mAh, 3.7V.

This has been the simple dissection of the S5. Have some of your questions been answered? Now then, I think I will have to use 3M double-sided tape to put the product back together… ^^
